From The Depths

Every now and then a blog post in the making gets lost in the depths of my computer. This one nearly escaped- until I decided to procrastinate from university work and give my laptop a clear out! 

I wish I could say that this weekend had been an eventful one, but it really hasn't been. I've spent the weekend reading chapter after chapter of numerous text books, and my brain feels like it's about to explode! But it's 21:46pm so I'm calling it a night. I have a hot date with Netlflix and my uni flat mates! I hope you all had a lovely weekend (finger's crossed it was more exciting than mine)...

Seeing as University is taking over my life right now I have a few themed posts in the works. They won't get buried in the depths, promise. Once I've well and truly settled into my room and jiggled things about there will be a room tour! (ugly carpet and curtains included, of course.)

September Insta-Updates

Instagram will always be my favourite way of sharing the pretty snippets of my life. Here's the month of September in images.

1) I've picked up new bed sheets, a shirt and scarf from Primark recently, their new collection is so impressive! I also went to the other extreme and nearly broke the bank when I "invested" in a Zara bag. (Using the word invest makes me feel so much better about this decision) 

2) My mum sent me some pictures of the dog because she knew how much I've been missing the little scamp whilst being at university.

3) Spotting the Sartorialist at Somerset House, LFW. 

1) Spending my spare time taking flat-lay shots, because why not?

2) Walking the little monster. It was the first day I noticed the leaves had changed!

3) Lazy days sporting a birthday present. You can never have a bad day when you're wearing a t-shirt covered in Ryan Gosling's face, right?

1) Celebrating my birthday in a different style. We skipped the main course and went straight in with homemade desserts. 

2) Freaking out because I'm finally 18!

3) Making rice crispie squares for the blog. So. Good.

Deep Thoughts & Dresses

Bright colours aren't usually my thing, but this dress was too pretty to pass up. Also- three applications of fake tan later, and I'm still as pale as ever. Anyway, of course I had an excuse to get dressed up and if you read my last post you'll know that last weekend I was at a wedding! Ah, I love a good wedding. (Apologies about the crazy variation of lighting here - it was so windy outside that I had to venture indoors for these shots)

But aside from that, I have some pretty big news, which you'll know about if you ever read my tweets or saw last night's emotional Instagram post. Yesterday was my last day at school, EVER. I really don't know what to think right now or how to feel, I've been amazingly lucky in finding so many friends over the past few years, and I'll miss seeing their half awake faces every Monday to Friday at 8:30am. So, if any of my Derby High girls are reading this, then first of all - good luck in your exams! Secondly - I'll see you all at the Leaver's Ball in July. Sending big love, as always. 

*Phew, emotional bit over* 

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Being the typical Brit that I am, of course I'm going to mention how ah-mazing the weather is today. As soon as I hit publish I'm running upstairs to get changed and take advantage of the nice weather. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!  

The Long Weekend

Yesterday the weather was a beaut in the UK, so much so that I could actually have bare shoulders without feeling chilly. My mad fortnight is nearly over- one exam down, one to go this Tuesday! To say I'm tired is probably an understatement- revision is definitely taking it's toll and I'm very near saturation point. My brain is feeling slightly frazzled from all the German work as I write this. 

But anyway, enough about school. Here is what I would be wearing this long weekend, if I had anywhere exciting to go, and any reason to dress up. This shirt is so pretty that I had to venture 20 yards up the drive in search of flowers to continue the theme, leaving my usual spot at the front door behind. Also, Barney is back! He's slowly growing to be a cute little edition to the family - when he's not terrorizing the house and eating my favourite boots. Yep, that happened. I'm always going to miss Cassie, who made a guest appearance way back  here, but her and Barney are two completely different dogs, so it makes the change easier. 

This post is much deeper than I was expecting, so with that I'm off to find coffee, and then I'm back in my quiet revision corner. Yep, you know the one, it was looking so pretty in the sun the other day that as a form of procrastination, I insta-grammed a pic of it.

To shoot this outfit I ventured outside- and my dog came too. The title of this post is pretty random, it's the lyrics to Everybody Talks by Neon Trees, a song I can't get enough of recently. Anyway, I hope you're all okay! This is my last week of school before we finish for the summer break and this weekend I'm going on holiday *Fingers crossed for the weather!* My blog might be quiet for the next week or so because I'm taking a break whilst I'm away. I'll still be shooting outfits though, of course! I'm trying to schedule as many posts as possible, so (hopefully) you won't even notice I'm gone.
