Take III

Jeans/ New Look . Shirt/ Dorothy Perkins . Boots/ Primark . Necklace/ Red Herring . Watch/ River Island

I've been suffering from a serious case of all round creative block, so strong that it took me a good twenty minutes to come up with a title, and I haven't blogged in ten days. Anyone else ever get this? It's like a never ending circle, because the more frustrated I get with myself, the more I struggle to write anything comprehensive.

So instead, let's just talk about how good Barney is at posing, or what I'm wearing today. Or the fact that that it's only two weeks until the big day. Anyone that took A-Levels will know exactly what I'm talking about. Results day is looming, people.
*curls up into a ball of self pity and denial

Back to the clothes, then. As much as I try to deny it, I will always be an ankle boots whenever and wherever kind of girl. So much so that I bought myself another pair of black ankle boots, the justification this time being 'I don't have a pair with a low heel that I could walk in all day'. Plus, they were only £15 from Primark. I would have picked them up in brown too, but they were out of my size. What can I say, a girl can never have too many ankle boots.

Stolen Dance

Heels and jeans are my favourite thing at the minute. Not that I have many places to wear them, but that's besides the point. We've gotta dress up every now and then, right? Even if we spend the day sat around the house doing nothing much but watching Gossip Girl... Yep, it was one of those days.

Notable mention goes to the song I've got on repeat right now- Stolen Dance - Milky Chance. There's also a certain Ariana Grande song that I can't stop playing (I've listened to it at least four times whilst editing this post together...) Recently I've been trying to update my iPod, so let me know what your favourite songs have been lately and I'll have a listen.

The New Thing: Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

Finally a new foundation to add to my ever-so-small stash. I could write a full blown ode to the Rimmel Match Perfection but since I've been giving myself a faux-glow for the past few weeks, it was time to try something new in a shade to match my sun tinted skin. I'm a dewy finish girl and gravitate towards a more sheer coverage, so after some extensive research I kept coming back to Bourjois' offerings.
So it wasn't long before this one came with me to the Boots checkout, and I've been reaching for it ever since.

After a few trials I decided this is definitely one to apply with hands- it blends so beautifully and creates a perfect, glowing base for the warmer months. And fear not- it doesn't cling to dry patches- something I know all too well. If you're more on the oily side I think this one will still be fine for you too, but maybe just powder to set it in place.

The verdict- I'm so glad I did my research and picked this up. It might not be the best for a long day out and about but that's nothing a little powder can't help. £9.99 very well spent!

Seeing Stripes

I don't know how, but it's taken me a long time to realise how much I like a maxi-dress. You can dress them up or down, and they're great to throw on for cooler summer days, or warm evenings. I'll always feel a little dressed up in anything that isn't a pair of jeans (aka my second skin) so I grabbed my backpack and white converse. Am I the only one that's still obsessed with the whole mono-chrome thing?

I'm writing this post well ahead of publishing day, so as you read this I'll be catching some rays abroad, internet free. I can't tell you the last time I went away without the possibility of blogging, so this week will have been an interesting one. This break is definitely needed though, even if it's not going to be easy. I like the idea of not only updating my blog a few times a week, but also getting to interact with you guys, so bare with me on this one! I'd love to know your thoughts though. Let me know in the comments and I'll get back to you after my hiatus!

The Leaver's Ball

As promised, here's a little snipped of our Leaver's Ball last Thursday. There was lots of food, cheesy music, and slightly dodgy dancing (all on my part). I'll save you from those photos. Scarily, that was the last time I'll be with my entire year group, and people I've known since I was 11, but it was the nicest evening and the best start to my Summer. Let me know what your prom memories are!

Backpackin'

It used to be that I would much rather piece together an outfit for the colder months - even though I would probably go for jeans and ankle boots every time. I thought I would actually make a concerted effort to re-inject my summer wardrobe this year though, and so far I'm actually enjoying dressing for warmer days. You might have noticed that ripped jeans have been making an appearance and it's safe to say they're favourites in my re-vamped wardrobe. You'll be seeing more of these babies soon.

My summer officially starts tomorrow, with prom. I'm going to do my best to get some photos for you and edit a post together super quick before I fly to Corfu on Friday, so check back on Sunday for that post! This past week has called for some serious organisation, and because I'm going to be away from the internet for two weeks (gasps) I hope all my blog scheduling goes smoothly. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me, and have a lovely Wednesday!
